No longer do you have to trek miles to find a cinema: the ‘Big Screen' has come to Wenhaston! The village hall sports state-of-the-art cinema equipment - a superb wide screen and digital back projector with a sound system to match. On the first Saturday of the month at 7.30pm we show a popular film, usually a recent ‘block-buster' or a ‘classic', often preceded by a short black and white ‘B' film to stir nostalgic memories for many.
So successful have these Saturdays proved, that we have also started a ‘World Cinema' evening for film buffs on the third Thursday of each month. These films are chosen from acknowledged great directors from around the world and range from Jacques Tati (Mr Hulot) comedies, to Indian and Japanese classics.
With a newly-refurbished café-bar open before the performances, our Village Hall cinema offers a very convivial evening's entertainment! Forthcoming films are advertised at the Village Hall
