Grimes Graves
Prehistoric site which was thought to be graves but later confirmed as flint mines. You can climb down a ladder into the mine (unfortunately only those over 10 years old allowed). There's not much else there - no visitor centre but it is very near other places of interest like Mildenhall Meseum and West Stow Country Park. Impressive for its sense of time and place.

Mildenhall Museum
A lovely small privately founded museum near Bury. Contains many treasures some half a million years old from local finds and is an excellent visit for all ages.

West Stow Country Park
This trip can take as long as you've got time to put into it. There is a huge playground and excellent museum, cafe and shop. The main attraction is the replica Anglo Saxon Village. Sometimes there are re-enactment events where people dress in Anglo Saxon outfits, cook food and talk about life in those times. Good for all ages.
